Young Engineers and Scientists (YES) Day and LiberationThrough Education (LTE) Day are outreach events we host at the end of every semester. Middle school students are invited to visit the Cockrell School of Engineering at UT Austin to learn about various STEM Fields and to receive information about the importance of a higher education. Student volunteers teach visiting middle schools about the different majors in engineering and engage them in an engineering challenge competition where they have to work in teams. YES and LTE Day are designed to excite young students about engineering with a hands-on approach and motivate them to pursue a college education.
